High Octane is set to make his return to the track this weekend with Tommy Berry aboard on his quest for a Golden Rose.
The most expensive son of sire Deep Feild ignited his career with a dominant win on debut in the Listed Blue Diamond Preview before meeting tougher competition as he battled his way up the grades. But both trainer Peter Snowden and pilot Tommy Berry are confident the colt has all guns blazing as he prepares to stand up against Australia’s top colts.
“He’s quite untapped at the moment; he was still quite raw when he was doing what he was doing last prep.” Berry said.
“I jumped on him for his last trial, and he deadset felt like a gorilla; he’s so big and strong.
“He’s a lovely individual to look at, and I said in his trials he’s really impressed me, but Raceday is obviously where we’re going to see where he’s at.”
