If History Has Taught Us Anything
NRL & AFL Finals Preview

Sharks v Cowboys

History has taught us that this match is anyone’s for the taking!

Whilst the Sharks have been spoken about in glowing terms throughout the year, they have had some lapses in the second half of the season, which has planted the seed of doubt in fans heads, while the Cowboys are the perennial ‘on again, off again’ side.

If you’re struggling to land on a tip in this one, history is no help:

  • The Sharks have won 11 of their past 13 against the Cowboys
  • The Cowboys have won three of their past four finals against the Sharks
  • The Sharks have lost their past seven finals matches

The two stats that can be relied upon are:

  • Mulitalo has scored 10 tries in his past 11 against the Cowboys
  • Feldt has scored 12 tries in his past seven games

Good luck!

Sydney Swans v Port Adelaide

Look away Swans fans, history aint your friend!

The Swans haven’t beaten the Power since 2016. For a side with such an incredible record, it’s hard to believe that such a losing record could exist in the Longmire era, that includes six minor premierships.

Earlier this year Port got off to a 45-0 lead before winning by a record margin, in what their coach described as “utterly unacceptable.”

Can the Swans turn around the eight losses in a row? That answer lies in the Swans doing what they do best and that’s stopping the opposition moving the ball from defensive 50 to forward 50, which Port excel at.

The main difference this time around is the absence of Dan Houston and Kane Farrell, who are jets at using the corridor when exiting their defensive 50.

The result could be known in the first 20 minutes, with Port either applying immense pressure like they did against the Hawks or succumbing to the Swans energy.

Buckle up!
