The 2015 Group 1 Golden Rose winner, Exosphere has passed away at Oaklands Stud in Queensland due to complications post colic surgery.
“Exosphere had colic surgery late yesterday, but he was in a lot of pain after the surgery, and the decision was made to let the big boy go to God,” said Neville Stewart, Oaklands Stud Manager.
“We are all devastated at Oaklands, as he was the best-behaved boy any stud could ask for. He had a big personality and was always happy. We all loved him, and he will be forever missed.”
Exosphere sired the winners of over $17.2 million in prizemoney with 10 stakes-winners headed by Group II winners Thermosphere, Skybird, and Easter, and his Australian stakes-winners last season included Phearson, Spacewalk, and Austmarr.
